Speaking Incorrect English In The UK:
I applaud the idea or suggestion to implement a program, to allow children to learn the techniques of Speaking Properly in public. The ability to verbalize the English language by any English speaking person, aught to be mandatory and absolutely necessary.
I have attended two Public Speaking Courses, that dealt with all of the skills that anyone who wants to improve their public speaking skills could have. And I am indeed very grateful for the opportunity, and for allowing myself to take such a course at that time.
Today, I am very aware or how important it is to speak correctly, coherently,, and intelligently. Be it written or oral speech.
I wish that all Primary or Grammar Schools would have this program as a part of their curriculum.
Incidentally, this is also a problem with many adults in our society today (the USA). And should also be contenmplated by those whose first language is not English too.
